Teach-In on US-Israeli War Against the Middle-East

Leilani Dowell, Recently Returned From Lebanon on a Fact-finding Mission, Will Speak at MECAWI Teach-In on the Middle-East at WSU, Sept. 30

The keynote speaker will be Joyce Chediac, a Lebanese-American journalist based in New York, who is a contributor to Workers World newspaper. Other speakers will include: Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire and a co-founder of MECAWI; Hasan Newash, co-founder of the Palestine Office of Michigan; Atty. Jerome Goldberg of MECAWI; Andrea Hackett of MECAWI, whose daughter served two terms in Iraq with the National Guard; Sandra Hines, an organizer for the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality; David Sole, U.S. Senate candidate on the "Stop the War Slate" for the Green Party; Kevin Carey, "Stop the War Slate" candidate for State Board of Education and others.

Greens Form Senate Campaign Committee

In this press release on the creation of a Senate Campaign Committee, David Sole, GPMI US Senate candidate is quoted: "The war on Iraq is a crime of historic proportions. With each new day we see more evidence of the greed and corruption that led to the decision to engage in this barbaric war for oil and geo-strategic control. America needs Senators who will stand firm against an administration bent on using lies and fear to lead the nation into such a devastating direction. "
